Remind me again . . why was Pressler forced to resign?

Gee whiz, was there a solid basis for any of Brodhead's decisions? Force the coach out for an out of control team . . woops, wrong. Suspend the season for the entire team that a dingbat DA said to any camera around was involved in a massive consipracy . . . woops, wrong. Suspend students for indictments from said dingbat DA . . . woops, that turned out to be less than stellar and likely phony. Allow a nice campus protest . . . woops, they turn out to be anti semitic nut jobs with weapons. Turn the campus over to the drive by media so educating takes a back seat to . . . woops, that didn't turn out so good.

Brodhead threw his own students and university under the bus to curry favor with an idiot and vindictive DA. We deserve a President at Duke who will stand by his students when the spit hits the fan.

I agree, Brodhead didn't handle any facet of this too well.

I wouldn't have blamed him for suspending the season...IF he had said it was for the safety of the players and their families.

I wouldn't have blamed him for suspending McFayden for his email IF he hadn't declared the racist, violent New Black Panther Party had the right to free speech.

Brodhead hasn't done Duke or its reputation any good by failing to be a consistant leader and a voice of reason.

I just want to highlight this from this morning's report in the N&O

The problems were largely unknown to the coach because university administrators in charge of student discipline failed to adequately notify him, it said.

Seems to me that Pressler deserves to get his job back and that those anonymous administrators deserve to lose their jobs.
