also...can we all agree that these young men were not "boys" like they're some scouts on a campout...

if people defend their right to drink and hire strippers then they also have to admit that these people are far from being "boys?

If they were out of college, I'd refer to them as young men. But they are in college, ergo, I refer to them as boys.

Mangum and Roberts are nearly a full decade older than the lax players. Can we agree that they are old enough to know better than to go to a private house and take their clothes off in front of men or boys?

All true, but some have been in trouble for underage drinking, so they're not exactly considered adults, either. I usually refer to them as "the guys" or "the players", and occasionally "the boys", because even fully grown men are sometimes referred to familiarly as "boys", just as grown women are sometimes referred to familiarly as "the girls". "I'm going to lunch with the girls", meaning my friends. "My husband went fishing with the boys", meaning he went with his friends. I don't think it's all that important. Besides, at their ages, they LOOK like boys, lol!
