Dan Abrams said on his show today that he has seen the DNA report and that the report contained DNA results that were inconclusive and possible mixtures of DNA that remain inconclusive. According to WRAL Nifong said it was the SBI who recommended further testing of the DNA.

If they're re-testing what was previously collected, then there's probably no concern. The more refined tests tend to confirm prior results.

I expect Nifong is spinning what SBI said with regard to further testing. They probably said that further testing might be beneficial, so he has spun that to be a recommendation from them.

As for the mixture of DNA under the nails, i expect that's what's being re-tested. When they get the results, I think Nifong has a duty to identify whose DNA is under those nails.

I forgot to mention that I think Nifong went forward with the additional testing to appease the black vote and keep the case viable in the minds of his voters.

_______________

I am sure the SBI suggested further testing after Nifong asked them what else he could do with the inconclusive results.

So, Dan did see the report Nifong says the defense is too afraid to let reporters see.
The DNA mixture under the nails that was inconclusive is the big bombshell evidence for Nifong, huh?.
That is what Nifong is alluding too in his coy responses.

I cannot wait until the test do not match any LAX player, let alone the two that were indicted.

It wouldn't make a lot of sense for Nifong to go passing this information that there was good news on the DNA, if it wasn't TRUE. To a degree - NIFONG interprets it as positive for the prosecution. Nifong also conveyed that there are things in the DNA report that the Defense doesn't want out there (from the first testing).

Nifong would lose face with Geraldo, Newsweek, N&O, and other supporters if he led them to believe we have good news and then it turned to not be the case.
