The bottom line for me on the night in question is the boys got shortchanged, argued over money, locked the skanks out, and now they're trying to "spin the story to their advantage" by crying rape. Couple that with a politically motivated DA who truly couldn't care less what happened that night nor what the real evidence might show...in order to take advantage of all the town/gown issues so as to get reelected, and you have the perfect storm leading to the destruction of two boys and their families.
Nifong an CGM should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

If one is to believe Abrams (whose reporting I suppose is suspect to well placed bloggers), he's seen the originals or copies of the originals and he claims you can see the boo boo on the AV's right leg that occurred when she fell down the back porch... It appears to have been photoshopped off in the photos release to the vulnerable masses...

The ONLY reason for Duke trial
Let's cut through all the nonsense and get right to the point of the entire Duke lacrosse rape case. There is only one reason for this case going forward, and that is the fact that the prosecutor is running for election to the post. That's it. No other reason. Forget about that... No.. No.. Not that either... No, I'm dead serious. Sure, it's hard to believe that a grown man would jeopardize the lives of two accomplished young men for his own benefit, but there it is.
Now, why, you ask would a man like Nifong do this? Well, damned, I have that answer too. I'll give you a hint. Thirty years as a toady in the prosecutors office. Yes, 30 is the clue. Can you imagine? This guy spent thirty years as a lowly assistant DA in a podunk North Carolina prosecutor's office. Now, there are two kinds of prosecutors. The first is the kid who is just out of law school and is just making the rounds, meeting the judges, and learning the system. This kind heads out into private practice after a few years to make the big bucks. Then there is the second kind. This is the type who just can't make it in the real world. He has to be dictated closely by rules of the prosecutor's office. He just isn't good enough, perhaps a bit insecure about his own abilities, and can't make that leap. Nifong is the epitome of this kind of loser.
Mike Nifong is not seeking reelection as is often stated. He was appointed to the position when his predecessor was named to a judgeship. He has grown to enjoy the light of day. No longer does he do the grunt work, but gets to feel important. My God! It is so good to be important for once, eh, Mikey? But now he is up for election. He really is just the same old Mike who spent 30 years in the grunt role, but he doesn't want to go back. Heck, his wife might divorce him and his children change their last name. (WTF is a Nifong anyway?). Soooo.....
What to do? He needs the black vote in a town that is split pretty evenly along racial lines. He needs his Negroes to vote for him and, well, now he has a Negro cause to espouse. He will take the case of this "mother and student" who was so brutally raped by these arrogant white Yankee boys. Yes, that will get him the black vote, fo' sho'.
So, you see what this all about. The kids will get off. Nifong is just a rube, a low-life scumsucker, the most vile type of man in this country. How can he show his face at home after what he has done to these kids? What a scumbag!
Afterthought: Shouldn't the black folk be a bit worried too! Hell, if Mike will try to railroad these two white kids, just think what he'll do to the blacks in Durham. Oh, that is, after he doesn't need them to vote for him.
Second afterthought: Why haven't we heard a peep from the police department? I can answer that. I can answer that!! It's because the are sure the case is bogus. They interviewed people who were with the stripper before the party. They stated that she was drunk to the gills before the party!

I think that makes me the saddest. How did the voters of Durham not see through this guy? Can it be they just hate white kids that much? I've never heard of anyone being indicted without being questioned first. I'm really missing something.

That would explain how there's been murders, slayings, carjacking, home invasions, gang violence, and drive bys in Durham - but Nifong has time to try this time-consuming case personally - and still do constant Media interviews.
Sadly, I think the saw him perfectly clear and liked what they saw.
