Full-blown ECW revival in works
April 30, 2006
BY BLACKJACK BROWN
The announcement fans of ECW have awaited for years is just weeks away, as WWE plans to bring back ECW full-time. WWE will use the June 11 ECW "One Night Stand II'' pay-per-view as the platform to announce the re-launch. Some insiders think the decision will be made sometime in the next two weeks either to give ECW a late-night cable time slot or make it an Internet-only promotion and run house shows all over the country.
Paul Heyman and Tommy Dreamer have been put in charge and are contacting old ECW stars to offer contracts. Word is Sabu already has inked a deal. Other names said to be signing include The Sandman, Balls Mahoney, Lance Storm, Justin Credible and Francine. The Dudleys, Rhino, Jerry Lynn and Shane Douglas are under contract to TNA and won't be able to jump.
AROUND THE RING: Rey Mysterio has been working with a pretty severe knee injury but will continue his run as WWE champion at least until Batista is ready for a return. ... Lex Luger and Rick Steiner will make their TNA debuts this week. ... Former WWE champion Brock Lesnar will be marrying girlfriend Sable this summer. ... Former WWE Diva Search winner Christy Hemme made her TNA debut last week at the "Lockdown'' show.
How about Stacy Keibler?
I've hears JBL may get the WWE title any day now because Rey is in no condition to be champ (and in my book, he was never in condition to be champ).
Pictures please!!!
Pictures please!!!
From what I gather, this is a sporting endeavor similar to wrestling.
Anything but. This is pure 100% entertainment featuring some very athletic, good looking acrobats playing to a soap opera script.
Great fun!
The last I heard the WWE had no plans for her.
www.kelliefans.com LOL!
What I've heard is that her contract was up this month (April) and she's decided to look at other options....
It will be good to see some new stuff. The WWE has become a caricature of itself.
