LOCAL BUSINESSES MAY NEED YOUR HELP ON MONDAY

By Jo Nuvark

As you know, ILLEGAL INVADERS are planning a work – out this Monday, May 1st, 2006. If you recall, during the 70’s in Southern California, the Teamster’s Union tried to shut down a few large grocery chains. At that time the stay at home mothers and many retired people VOLUNTEERED to get the groceries off-loaded, stocked and bagged for customers. My Mother-in-law and her neighbors bagged groceries for weeks. The men stocked shelves. It was done quietly with no fuss. Nobody wanted a medal, they just wanted to help the community.

I am suggesting that we help businesses on Monday by doing the very same thing. Of course, we may not have the skills to do all of the work necessary, but we can do some things.

1. Call local businesses and ask if they need help. 2. Tell them you will work for nothing. 3. Tell them you will supply a signed Liability Release. 4. Call it VIVA AMERICA!

I'm working already. Sorry otherwise I'd be glad to. Going to do my part of buying though on Monday soon as I get off work.

I would rather work for free for a factory running full production because they don't support lawbreaking.

I saw that. The legislature can say anything it wants, but I would imagine even California courts wouldn't put a lot of effort into upholding a resolution that basically says private employers do not have the right to hire and fire their employees for absenteeism and / or insubordination.

That legislative move is just plain situational pandering by the usual vote-begging California Cowards, methinks.

I agree - if a company is supporting their employees legal or illegal who take on this yet another protest.... I would prefer not to do business with them in any way.

It will be interesting to see which companies suffer - they will be the ones perpetuating illegal employment yes?

Dock the pay for the people who take off work, and fine the parents of the children removed from school to pay for an extra day of made up classes.

Just stop accommodating this regular stuff - they have more holidays than the French fops!

What are they going to do on Cinco de Mayo??? Stage a war?

For me, May 1st is now :

Thank A LEGAL Immigrant Who Chooses To Work Day

Go to a Mexican Restaurant that chooses to stay open and give the legal immigrants who are working that day a big tip.

Visit Mexican Grocery stores owned by legal immigrants and spend a LOT of money.

Reward legal immigrants!

There are hardly any illegals in my area.

Their boycott won't mean a thing here in a small town 25 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, PA.

"A day without a Mexican"...that's everyday here. So far.

If the entire country doesn't unite on this, it will only be a matter of time.

I'm in north central WV. There aren't many here either, but they are here. Keep an eye on the kitchen help at your local Chinese and Mexican restaurants and you will see tremendous turn-over. Here, some don't even leave the building after closing. I've got the feeling that our area is kind of a 'stop over' for the invaders.
