Is Jason Leopold Reviewing His Own Book On Amazon Under Various Names?

Jason Leopold has come to my attention even more ever since I posted this DUmmie FUnnies Blog EDITION since if you look in the comments section you will see some really LOOOOOONY postings by "Anonymous" who sounds VERY ANGRY. Could this be Jason Leopold showing his TRUE COLORS?

As the TearingDownTheWall Jason (not to be confused with the NUttie Leopold Jason) pointed out, there are several VERY SUSPICOUS book reviews of Jason Leopold's News Junkie book on AMAZON. Here are the reviews. Judge for yourself:

The title of this book is appropriate because I found myself addicted to this behind the scenes look at how reporters and sources work together and against one another to break stories and build or destroy careers.

It's a bracing confessional that takes no prisoners and makes no apoolgies. The writer's style is bold, literate and rhythmic. And, his crudely sophisticaed humor is always a guilty pleasure.

As a recovering addict, the writer is attracted to journalism because he finds a replacement high in the muckraking stories he's able to break to a national audience. I scoop, therefore I am.

A fascinating story written from the inside. Jason has a penetrating view of the subjects he writes about, and he has written a book that cannot be put down. You promise yourself only a few more pages, and find that you keep making the same promise over and over again. You root for him the whole way.

I found the book highly enjoyable. While the heart of the book is one journalist's story, the story takes place in the context of major news' events of our time, such as Enron scandal and the California energy crises. While being an "easy" read, it sheds light on the power and limitations of mainstream media and how beholden we, the public, are to what they choose to print. A highly recomend this book to anyone who has an interest in current events or simply wants to read an enjoyable story of a journalist's desire to get the "scoop."

I was unable to go to sleep once I opened this book. The story is fascinating from all angles -- drug addiction and recovery, news reporting, the current state of the news. And, despite his demons, the protagonist is so smart and likeable that you find yourself rooting for him even when he behaves badly. I did not want the book to end. I highly recommend it.

Jason takes you on an adventure! News Junkie is fast paced and fun to read. He makes the complicated process of breaking news stories easy for an outsider to comprehend, and exciting to read about!

Hmmm... 5 glowing 5 star reviews by reviewers who never posted book reviews before. Plus all done in the exact same tone of voice. Was this Jason Leopold reviewing himself under 5 different names? You be the judge.

I also find it suspicious that two of the reviews have the name of Lieb and Leeman which sounds like a variation on "Leopold." JS should use more creative aliases in the future.

BTW, I notice that his book doesn't have a publisher listed which means it is probably a Vanity Book.

Jason Leopold apparently went to the James Frey school of creative writing. Fake, but emotionally accurate?

Should have named it "A Million Little Liberals."
