A teacher accused of forcing a 13 year old to have sex with him, has been suspended.
Brett Marshall was arrested at Los Fresnos high school where he teaches music.
Police say the 41 year old had been sexually assaulting the teen at his Laguna Vista home since November.
Her parents went to police Monday, after noticing a marking on her neck. Police say the 13 year old girl is not a student at Los Fresnos, but lives in Laguna Vista.
Police say parents need to be aware of who their kids are hanging around with.
"It was a total shock to us. His record was clean, no priors what so ever. And the whole community is still in shock as we speak," said Chief Frank Lerma Jr.
Marshall is also the music director at the Christ Harbor Church in Laguna Vista. On Wednesday night the church suspended Marshall without pay.
Pastor Ernest Jones says the congregation is in shock and also feel sorry for Marshall's children.
He's been suspended with pay from Los Fresnos High School, pending the outcome of the investigation.
How come people aren't going crazy about the teachers in public schools like they did when the Catholic Church was having problems with some of their priests?
Seems like the public school problem is a lot more wide-spread.
she was at his house..why...I think maybe it was consent then she got caught and it became rape..who knows but gotta watch those young uns nowadays
13 year olds can not give legal consent.
Because the MSM like the gov't schools. They don't like church for the most part. Also, maybe they think is it a worse crime because priests take a celibacy vow, and teachers don't. The children are victimized either way.
I have a gay cousin who teaches middle school music. We kind of expect to see this with him eventually. At 36, he has never "dated" anyone old enough to have a college diploma.
