Egads..
Can you see the "yeah, right" look on my face as I post this?
I don't think insurance pays for extended periods of therapy any more. I don't think they were paying out a lot ten years ago either. Anybody know what kind of psychiatric treatment is available for people with limited/no income?
IF anything, insurance companies have expanded upon their "mental health" coverage; not the other way around. Most HMO's have a 1 to 2 year window of coverage. They can then refer "low-incomers" to other "gratis" organizations after that.
If the family was this adept at "working around daddy", mother and daughter could have very successfully gone to the police and pursued the case -- and yet kept daddy in his okay mode.
Do we have any reason to think her mother is capable of acting responsibly?
I'm sure you would not allow your 13-year-old HS freshman/sophomore daughter to "date" a > 21-year-old man.
There is nothing in the known circumstances of this case to support the belief that either parent is minimally competent at parenting.

Here's an interesting article regarding interracial rape. Free Republic is mentioned in the comment below the article.

Amy Fisher admits using ecstacy as a recreational drug when she shot her boyfriend's wife. My guess is the stripper is a pretty heavy user too if reports that suddenly she was out of it.

The accuser was in high school when she met the man, McNeil said.
If he was at least seven years older the she would have been 10 or eleven at the time, at best.

No, no, no, you are misreading what McNeil said. The ACCUSER, ie the woman was in high school when she met the man. It is looking more and more like she claimed rape to her fiancee, if not the police, when she was 16 years old and in high school. This is a different rape claim than she made in 1996 claiming she was raped in 1993.
The next bombshell will be if she claimed rape at age 16 to some authority, the police, someone at her high school etc. To me this is what the defense demand for information was seeking.
I had no idea they had increased psychiatric coverage to that extent. Was that much coverage available ten years ago?
Another question: has *anybody* tracked down the current boyfriend? If all her old beaus have criminal records and beat her, no doubt the current one does too.
Current boyfriend is the only one not blabbing to the press. Why? Perhaps he's involved up to his ears? Perhaps he's a dealer? Perhaps he beat the AV the night of the party? Maybe current boy friend is a policeman? politician?
Perhaps he beat the AV the night of the party?
good chance, because she left her money bahind in the house.....
Current boyfriend is the only one not blabbing to the press.
Sure would like to get hold of a Hillsborough yearbook and check some names in the NC Offender search.

toldyou posted the above in another thread
go to the link, and then click on the link giving personal info on the accuser.
I wonder if the guy who shows up on the reverse inquiry for CGM's phone number is the current boyfriend?
Probably NOT her boyfriend -
veromi search shows that guy is 72 years old!
I did read it wrong, thanks the correction.
I don't think any sense can be made out of the father's comments. If the police were called would they have filed a report? Maybe dad did pick her up in Creedmoor and lost his temper.
http://www.nbc17.com/news/9083147/detail.html
The woman's father told NBC17 that the 1993 incident occurred, saying police called him to pick her up from a house on Hillsboro Street in Creedmoor where the assault allegedly took place. He also continued to back his daughters allegations against the lacrosse players.

Her father told The N&O in an interview Thursday that the rape didn't happen. But the father would not know because she never told him, McNeil said.

"They didn't do anything to her," the father told the Raleigh newspaper, adding that a group of men had picked her up from school in Durham, driven her to Granville County, and returned her home safely the same day.

Asked Thursday if she was sexually assaulted, her father said, "I can't remember." In an interview with the News & Observer of Raleigh, posted Thursday night on the newspaper's Web site, he said the men "didn't do anything to her."
Well, she likes older men. ;oD
