Hendrie is an acquired taste, but once you "get it", he's great. He was sensational in the period just after 9-11.
Agreed...I tell my friends to this day his best shows were right after 9-11 and during the Anthrax Attacks.
That's certainly the truth. The first time I heard him, I couldn't figure his show out at all. Even some of his stuff before Y2K were just hysterically funny. Particularly his spoofs of Art Bell. Callers who didn't know better wondered why Art was on so early in the evening, or bought the hysterically funny insanity provided by General Johnson Jameson (Hendrie's Art Bell frequent guest).
