It is illegal for stores to sell corn flakes on Sunday.

Thankfully, Texas did away with their Blue Law. I couldn't believe it, we were on vacation and nothing was open on that Sunday. So, we stopped in the town's little grocery store to pick up something for lunch. About all we could find that didn't require cooking was canned pork 'n beans. At the check out, they refused to sell us a can opener for the beans --- we starved the rest of the day.

Thankfully, Texas did away with their Blue Law.

I stopped in Amarillo on business about 15 years ago. I used to like to just get a couple of beers and watch TV in my hotel room to relax. I walked all over the supermarket before asking someone and the guy chuckled and told me I was in a "dry precinct." A few blocks down though I could buy beer. I think I ran into the same thing in Dallas once as well.
