And yet,Stalin's...and Mao's...ghosts are alive and well in Old Europe today.
With any luck at all Old Europe will die a quick and quiet death and slip, officially, into irrelevancy.

I still remember reading a 1963 Readers Digest article that thought Hitler might still be alive and well in South America.

The cranium and parts of the couch were sent to Moscow.
I've seen a documentary which showed the skull fragments; Stalin also collected at least one of Hitler's portfolios of watercolors.
A patient claiming to be Hitler died in a nursing home in Argentina around 1970 (that tidbit is in a book by the late Long John Nebel).
Sidebars:
The purported skull of Martin Bormann was dug up somewhere west of Berlin a while after the war, and I've seen a photo of that. Big teeth.
Also west of Berlin, Himmler was attempting to escape with false identity papers when he was caught and interrogated by The Russkies. Eventually he got tired of the whole procedure and stated, "I am Heinrich Himmler." Then he bit the suicide capsule he'd been carrying under his tongue. They buried his carcass somewhere near where he'd been picked up.
