The stripper who charges she was raped by Duke University lacrosse players is so traumatized she sometimes screams at the sight of white men in the street, a new report says.
The accuser is staying with friends and only occasionally calls relatives, amid threats from Duke supporters and white supremacists, Essence magazine reported.
"I know she feels alone," the woman's ex-husband told Essence. "She doesn't know who to trust. That's why she's running."
Meanwhile, a lawyer for one of two Duke lacrosse players charged in the rape demanded that prosecutors turn over the accuser's medical, legal and education records for use in attacking her credibility.
When the woman does call family members, she sounds frightened and refuses to let them contact her, relatives said.
"Nobody has seen her. She needs some help," the woman's aunt told the magazine. "That girl needs some professional help."

She has considered dropping the charges, especially after DNA tests failed to implicate any of the white players, but her family urged her to stay the course.
Her mom met over the weekend with noted civil rights lawyer Willie Gary, but he has not been formally asked to get involved in the case.

Reverend Jesse Jackson told ESSENCE that during a conversation in which he called to pray with the parents of the alleged victim, he suggested that the family call Willie Gary and gave the mother the necessary contact information. The father of the 27-year-old alleged victim called Willie Gary’s office to follow up on Reverend Jackson’s suggestion.

Confusing sentence. If no one knows how to reach her, I suppose the relatives are the ones getting threats from alleged "white supremacists"? And I do mean "alleged". If someone called me and told me they were the Governor of NC, should I believe that person?
A definite sign of mental illness. Or was she screaming, "Hey! Tonight is half price night!"
I was once robbed at gunpoint in Washington, DC by a black man. For awhile after that, just seeing a black man on the street really did frighten me, so I can understand her reaction if in fact she really was raped by a white man. But I kept telling myself that only one man was responsible for the hold-up and I needed to get over this. Eventually I did, but it took awhile. This is a normal reaction. But I don't have much faith in this woman's credibility at this point.
OMG--she is crazy.....her family doesn't even know where she is? She's running?
A rational white man would scream at the sight of her, on the street.
The accuser is frightened alright. Frightened of being found out to have made the whole thing up maybe?
I don't believe a word anyone in her family says. She's a proven liar and so is her father. It really annoys me that Rita Cosby and Greta Van Susteren keep interviewing the father. Nobody ever calls him on the contradictory stories he's told.
