Gotta go electrical storm.
To: bentfeather
Good afternoon! Our humble above-ground pool is clearing up from winter blasts and will be usable soon.

I broke a tooth and luckily the dentist could squeeze me in. Things keep on popping around here!

Ooops broken tooth, hope all is repaired by now.
I just now am getting back on line, lots of T-Storms here and heavy rains.
To: Lady Jag
Finally I got my AC in the window and running today. I was bushed after the struggle to get it done. I took a nap in the middle of the storms. ;)
To: bentfeather
Dentist smoothed out the broken tooth because his partner was in the hospital - talk about a day! While I was there, they got word that the patient/dentist would be fine.
Sounds like you got a lot of t-storm action! Ours nearly always pass quickly. At least you didn't loose power! I hate that!!!
How's the air now that the storms have passed?

Nap for air conditioner? It's not a tiny one, then?
The one-room a/c we bought last year is so light you can actually use the handle! They've gotten better and cheaper, too.

Air is cooler now. It was not right away, but the Weather Channel said we are into the 70s tomorrow.
More T-Storms moving in around midnight.
This morning there was a lovely breeze and I had all the windows opened... then the heat of the day moved in. I made up my mind the AC was going in today.
This morning when I got up I looked out in my garden, there blooming their hearts out were two stalks of Hy-bred Iris. I have not had blooms from them for years. I scurried out to pluck them for the house, boy I am glad I did, the rains would have ruined them.
To: Lady Jag
The AC is a window unit and has some age on it. It's a tad heavy for me, but I did achieve my goal and got it installed.
BTW, I am covered in Black and Blues from wrestling with that thing.
I am thankful to have the unit, I don't do well in heat and humidity.

Today maxed out at 81 and is 72 now. I've been running my a/c for over a month. I start sweating at 70 as year by year, I enjoy cooler temps more.

My hollyhock is barely there this year after decades of thriving. I imagine it will come back next year.

hollyhock
Mine all died out. The old plants don't bloom as a rule they are biannual, the new plants this year will bloom next year.
Foxglove is another biannual bloomer.
To: bentfeather
Once the biannual foxglove & hollyhock get going, they effectively become perennial. Both types can have bad years and enough of those can kill them off. This is what I've seen over the years. My hollyhock is the saddest I've seen it and the foxglove, once prolific in is deep pink & white blooms, moved about 40' and turned pale yellow.

The first year my foxglove bloomed it was deep pink and white and yellow blooms.
I have not seen yellow in a few years now.

Hello, I Must Be Going
As the wind brushes past
On its way undeterred
As the spring leaves wave
Giving cover to song birds
As the sun sparkles brightly
On the surface of the pond
I sit alone with thoughts
Too personal to call profound
In the distance cars are driving
down a country highway lane
In the distance rain is falling
In time, to stop and start again
As the sun sparkles brightly
On the surface of the pond
I sit alone with thoughts
Too gracious to call profound
At an even greater distance
Up to the sky so clear
Pure white cloudy giants
Greet one another without fear
As the sun sparkles brightly
On the surface of the pond
I sit alone with thoughts
Too dear to call profound
As I return to the city
Please don't feel disquiet if you pass
I'm just to grab a few things
Of use, a coat and a hat
As the sun shone brightly
on the surface of the pond
I said "hello, I must be going"
To my reflection, already gone

I was looking for you!
Where was that thread?
Round and round the search engine I went,
key word I went,
confused I went,
Forgetting my spelling,
Forgetting which date
Early in the morning.
And then I find,
as I get here,
we were ships passing in the dawn...
