Somehow I just felt like a steak poem today, I guess spring brings out the griller in me.

Today is Friday, May 5, the 125th day of 2006 with 240 to follow.
The moon is waxing. The morning stars are Venus, Neptune, Uranus,
Mercury and Pluto. The evening stars are Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.

The moon is waxing. The morning stars are Venus, Neptune, Uranus, Mercury and Pluto. The evening stars are Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.

The moon on a walk,
took time just to stop,
and call upon Uranus.

My friend's in a gloom,
And visiting Neptune,
Said Jupiter at Pluto's engagement.

The moon reached his house,
But Uranus was out,
So the moon commenced to wax it.

When Saturn's around,
There's never a frown,
If Venus makes Mercury catch it.

Which left Mars alone,
but never outshone,
As that's his particular business.

The whole group will meet,
back here for tea,
Please join us for stardust and biscuits!

Hello again. I love dropping by and seeing what everyone else contributes here. Ever think of compiling a collector's coffee table book from some of the Dragonfly threads? (complete with pictures and poetry, of course!)

Ah, a book. Well, that is a huge task, but a wonderful idea. Thank You.

Anthologies are great and are costly to produce. Poets are notoriously poor. ;)

I know there are online publishers that do ebooks, not the same thing as a glossy coffee table book.

I have my own book which came out in 2004. I won a book publishing contract. I did everything putting the book together. I drew the artwork for the cover, edit the book, created the index, wrote the info about myself for the back cover. It was and is a wonderful experience to have ones own book.
Thank you for looking in at our poet's work. We have some fine writers here.

Why am I not surprised? ;-)

But don't be so coy, what's the name of your book?

My Dragonfly and Me

The opening poem for this thread is the winning poem for the book contract.

I read the poem in Washington DC, 2003, before judges and peers. About 40 to 50 people. Last year I read my work, same place and won third prize.

Ah, excellent. Well congratulations on the publishing of your delightful poems. I read that top piece earlier and thought how lovely the imagery was.

That good for nothing, Long Johnson
All he does is sing . . . all the live long day!
