I doubt they put that number there on purpose.
Most of the military hardware you see on the show is real. It isn't dressed up for the show. Most of the troops you see on the show are real. (That honor guard for David Palmer was made up of real military personal.) Many of the producers/writers of 24 are big time Republicans.
