Ya know, I caught some lakers with Bill Smoke and his son a couple years back out on Copper Lake. We were ice fishing and I had the hole; nobody else was catching any. So I gave bill's son my hole and pole with the only airplane jigs on the lake. He started hammering them. Bill got a big kick out of his son enjoying himself.
Couldn't meet a nicer guy/family man. Sad when tragedies occur to people you know; it could happen to any of us too. Bill's wife Janice was a science teacher in our school district; just the best of people. His wife and family have my deepest sympathy. He's being buried friday 28th in Eagle River.
