I'll agree that dogs are not moral or immoral creatures, they just are. And that good owners can make good dogs. There may be a purpose for every dog, but all dogs are not equally able to fill all functions and people need to remember the job the dog was bred to do when they think about how well it'll fit in their home. Some are good as pets for small kids, and some are not. Sometimes this is by type, sometimes it's particulars about an individual dog.

Not true as some dogs were bred by "backyard" breeders who know nothing about breeding dogs too close or with bad temperments.

The results being a "bad" dog that has the vices of its breed with little or none of its virtues

Pit Bulls are a FIGHTING dog, that's what they were bred to do so I just can't understand someone with small children taking any kind of chance when there are numerous other breeds that are NOT bred to fight
