Being a gentleman, he tried to avoid the curvy blonde ... and failed utterly. Being a compassionate man, he checked her out to make sure she was okay, after being hit in the head by a six-foot-five, two-hundred-plus pound man. Being male, and having a pulse, he wasn't entirely sorry sorry the outcome of his experiment --- who knew there were such appealing scenery in the wilds of Washington State?
It wasn't until he sat up that he realized he'd lost his clothes on the way down. His very next realization was that he could, even at the ripe old age of 240 years, still blush ...
"So, there I was at thirty thousand feet when..."

So can I...eek!
But he's too tall...
Takes Place: September 2 - 4, 2006

Can you produce an entire novel in a mere 72 hours? Join hundreds of writers this Labour Day Weekend and find out for yourself!
Grand Prize: Publication!
Second Prize: $500
And neat literary prizes for 3rd place and the entire short list!
How does it work? Here's the short story: read the rules, register for the contest by September 1st, make a few outline notes (if you wish) and then write an entire novel over the Labour Day Weekend.
Keep energized, stay hydrated, keep your goal in sight and let the momentum of the contest charge your creativity and break through your blocks. Print up your masterwork, stick it in an envelope and mail to us for judging.
We'll announce the best novels in January, hand out some prizes and publish the winner!
If the 3-Day Novel Contest isnt enough pressure for you, how about doing it live on TV? This year, a dozen entrants will be selected to write their novels live at a Chapters- Indigo store in Edmonton. The chosen few will struggle with the rigours of the contest, plus cameras, crowds, questions, therapists, spelling bees, roving poets, and a national audience. Think you can endure it, and still produce a literary masterwork? Theyre accepting applications now (note: you must register for the contest separately).
