Well, for what it's worth posting in spy font just in case they lurk...your Dad was way out of line for scolding you. Yer adults fercryinoutloud and they destroyed something very expensive that belonged to you, and something that it was inconvenient for you to replace. If your Dad didn't want THEM paying for it, then the only appropriate thing would be for HIM to offer to pay for it.
