There's a butcher shop in Wisconsin where my MIL lives and it sells this stuff called garlic stick. It's basically a salami-type thing...very garlic-y...very good.
Although I'm sure Steve would disagree, I think liver pudding is better.
Here is the red oakleaf lettuce. See how tall it is? (The one on the right is the tallest one we have.) As it grows, I harvest just the bottom few leaves, which is why the stalk is bald. We have a bunch of lettuce plants, so harvesting just a few from the bottom of each makes for about a daily large bowl of salad!
Now here is the butternut squash I planted from that one I ate. It grows really fast and is just taking off! Steve put scraps of an old housecoat underneath it. I don't know why, but he has a BS in Agriculture/Horticulture, so I guess he knows.
I was afraid it wouldn't produce true, but it looks as if a butternut squash is what I'm gonna get!
