Every dog, bird dog and mutt alike, that I've ever owned would kill a chicken if they had a chance to. It's a natural thing for them to want to do, unless they are specifically trained not to, and even that doesn't always work.

I have a friend who's dogs (3 of them...2 labs and a hound) hang out all day with their chickens. I wish I knew how that happened. All the dogs were at least two when they got the chikens. Mrsnad

Well, they probably had to train them a bit at first... or maybe their dogs just weren't very birdy... Some of them show bred labs don't hunt much :~)
