HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
Sorry to hear about your situation, XGI. Real sorry. Women can be such .... well, you know.
And 2J, sorry to hear about the recent developments with the thesis. Men can be such ... well, you know.
If my temper can be of help to either of you, you have only to ask.
Things have been busy here. I've been writing reports on this and that and have been drafting big study proposals. This is like writing a grant proposals. Form over function. Silliness abounds. Anyhoo, I've been working on keeping the budgets for my proposals trim in order to improve their chances of being funded. Well, one of the decision makers sat me down yesterday and gave me an earful of criticism. This is all wrong, entirely the wrong approach, won't answer the questions blah blah blah .... unless you triple the size of the effort and do it "right". I never saw that coming.
So does that mean you get triple the budget? :)
Miss Cat got to the milk while I wasn't looking. *Sigh* She's so cute when she's being bad.
That was the implication. Stranger things have happened.
I'm so not motivated to do work this morning. *sigh*
Me either.
Is it 4:00 yet?
mornin'
Mrs. got hit with something out of the blue this week because she told a company conference planner "I need more training on this." Major Bee-yatch from NYC got all huffy and said she should know that already.
How, exactly if she's never been trained?
Wife was stuned, but didn't back down. Told her immediate bosses "I come from a background where it's a good thing to ask questions."
I told her to not let it worry her. There's a Major Bee-yatch in every organization. Sometimes they're wimmin, sometimes they're ~really~ bee-yatchy men.
Already? Is there nooz? Or are you already set up for thehomeoffice?
Yup. I think I can finally go ahead and say that this is a sure thing!
YIPPEE!
woo hoo!
Yay! So do you start working from home now?
That's great.
Mornin'... :-)
She took the laptop home to test it last night... but still has to go into the office while she's there. It works though! :-)
Heh heh...like Dr. J...heretoforth known as Dr. JB-Y.
He keeps going, he's gonna have a nickname a mile long.
Haven't heard a word from him since the email blasting Steve yesterday about the submission error. Steve will regretfully, but hopefully be able to meet with the advisor today to get the hard-copy format-check document signed off. It's not a final draft sign-off...just a sign-off to have the format guy check it.
We worked on getting the format "just so" till about 2am out here in the shop (right beside My Precious Beetle). There were actually templates and examples online but didn't know it. (Now we know that it was probably what the secretary meant when she said "Check online how to do it." Unfortunately, the Submit Online is online too and that is what he thought he was supposed to do. Not to mention that Dr. JBY *told* Steve he didn't need a hard copy!
Lord, what a worthless piece of humanity that guy is.
Ok...I've got to get off-line in case he calls. He's definitely going to Stillwater, I may have to take him if he can't get the BOB.
Will check in when I know more, but at this point we're just waiting for the format sign-off and any potential revisions.
fingers crossed. prayers up.
axe at the ready if'n yuh need us.
Thank you, my friend.
I know there's nothing the Hole can really do...there's nothing *I* can really do. But it's nice to have people be indignant with me!
:-)
Oops...forgot to change my tagline...
Still gotta come in while I'm living here, but soon enough I will be working from home.
I can't wait!
Mornin', sweetheart.
Soon enough!
I can't wait either... sigh.
hmmm?
