It's really warm and wet out... they're popping up everywhere. Like I said on the other thread, as wet as it is, they'll be growing between our toes if we aren't careful :~D

I don't think real ELF-ers will use little bubbles dots for periods between the letters. Makes, me think, like, omigawd, they're like, girls. Secondly, real ELF-ers burn down real estate developments. Not that I'm giving them any hints.
I can understand the arguments and sentiment against sprawl. Completely. However, to try to make an ecological argument out of it all is just stoooopid. Especially since our development was a farm. A tree farm. A tree farm full of non-native tree species (spindly, crowded pulp pines). A tree farm that completely wiped out the native ecology. There's no native undergrowth. There's barely any wildlife. The developer did the land a *favor* fcol. 1) improved stormwater management 2) reintroduction of native deciduous species 3) large lots minimized the number of actual homes in the plat. There's nearly 30 homes on over 70 acres - most of which is still wooded with the pulp pines. Most developments will put 3-4 homes per acre. Not ours.
But no. The rocket scientists vandalized nearly every home as it was being constructed. In some cases stole materiels and equipment (yup, it's wasn't just doughboy). They stole our development's sign. We all opted to not replace it for 4-5 years so the turds can graduate high school first. :P And now they think they're ELF-ers spray painting for a cause. What a riot.
Anything else they should know????

Eeek. Sorry about your vandals... did they spray fences, homes, - lived in, or those under construction?

Back during construction a couple years ago, they'd spray paint everything. Fortunately with paint and vinyl siding it got covered up. There are several names carved in the concrete of our foundation. Including - I kid you not - "Bubba" They'd also sneak in at night and have parties. The construction site would be littered with broken beer bottles the next morning. We actually deterred a group of them one evening. We were visiting our house with the dogs and they started coming down the drive in a junker car. I made a big show of lifting my camera as though to take a picture. They threw it in reverse real quick and backed out. Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to actually get a picture. Probably would have helped identify the perps.

Vandals suck. Perhaps if we concentrate them they'll make a mini black hole and slip past the event horizon.
Now see. Books like that give me hope. If a silly thing like that can get published, I surely can. Heh.
