Well...it ain't pretty, but hopefully it'll keep the rabbits out.
Hmm, wondering if concertina wire comes in a mini-size for varmints?
You have to be careful when you step out your front door. Who knows what adventure you might get swept up in?
I am attaching some pics from the blackhawk flights I went on, the countryside is absolutely beautiful. Lots of dried up riverbeds this time a year.
You can see some of the compounds- usually the whole family (including extended family) lives in that one area together. There they do everything from laundry washing to cooking to keeping their livestock. We saw an old castle, some of the caves in the hills, lots of sheep and cattle.
It was interesting, we would fly over and a lot of people and children waveing at us, and it was really neat to be able to see the little things; laundry hanging across the compounds, children herding cattle, a bunch of camels too (can't forget the camels :-) and women working in the fields. It is an amazing country.
Her father flies a AH-64 in the same unit, and she has two brothers and a cousin in Iraq. They have all received some extra-special Hobbit Hole thank-yous many months ago.
BTW, I've learned an important lesson: the contents of a 4-bedroom house don't really fit well into a 3-bedroom apartment. We're going to have to spend some time figuring out where everything goes... but that can wait for now...
Okay....what can you plant between tomato and pepper plants?
Just got in from my garden. Got a good day's worth of work in and I'm pleased.
I put up another fence for the wabbits, tripple dug another third of thebigraised bed, and transplanted tomatoes, peppers, and marigolds. I think I've got too many marigolds...dunno where to put them all.
We just hauled two big loads of gravel and spread it in front to fill in some holes and make me a nice little path to where I'm gonna park. It looks really nice, I think!
I'm contemplating using the tires to do some sorta raised bed - stack 'em two high. I dunno if they'd keep dirt in well enough since they're odd shaped...but maybe. I have *just* enough...
Very cool note from her, I'd like to see the pictures! Her father in the same unit eh? That's interesting. She's a cutie pie. I'm a jealous of her, getting to go do that.
I'll forward the entire email, with attachments. Lots of pictures, lots more chat. I just excerpted, because I didn't want to post everything on a public forum.
Dad says "do you know how to get there?"
I bought some corn plants today. They were ~cute~. :-)
Sam's already tried to dig 'em up.
I also planted the cantalope, watermelon and pumpkin, and put vinca around the edge of that bed. Luke ~helped~.
Painted some pots and put some herbs out on the deck. Got one more flower bed to mulch and put annuals in out front, and the plantin' will be over.
Evening Corin; handsome couple there. RE: the caption, looks like "Okay, these are the Roolz" We noticed there were several pages of them.
