It looks like Night of the Lepus out there.

Had to have taken them decades to bring it to what it is now.

takes time and energy... don't worry... you'll have a nice place of yer own one day...

I'm just afraid it'll be too narrow to get the mower through. Not sure how it'd take a weed whacker. Might work OK. I was kinda thinking thyme, though - that doesn't mind sun or dryness, and it spreads nicely and smells good. I can wander around back there contemplating pizza. ;-)

I haven't seen another faucet. The hose as is reaches as far as the compost pile, which *might* be long enough to get the garden good, but it's probably be easier with another length. Guess I can add that to my Home Depot list.

Is Home Depot likely to be the cheapest place for garden tools, too?

I was either gonna get them there or the feed store...unless I see some promising garage sales on the way.

Figure I'll at least want a shovel, a pitchfork, and some kinda rake.

Just a word of advice where I'm going to sound alarmingly like my dad, because I know your temptation will be to save money... but when looking at tools, get the heaviest one, not the cheapest one. The heavy duty one will cost $5-10 more, but it won't break on you in the first year of use, it'll last you for many years... < /sounding like my dad >

The feed store actually has rather cheapo garden tools, at least in the past, and only one brand. Home Depot would have better selection.

Sounds like good advice! I'll keep it in mind.

No matter how much we resist, we become our parents :~D

I use tools really hard. So I've learned to avoid the cheap ones. I can't stand a rickety handle or a dull cutter :~D

I hope not, I don't think I want seven kids... not if one of them is like me...

~yawn~

I want to work in ~my~ yard today, not go downtown with the kid's choir and plant flowers for somebody else.

Probably do...but I'm not sure how to do that or when is the best time of year for it.

You can do it now, in the spring. A good guide is that if it's for sale in the stores, it's time to plant. I suppose you could try transplanting in the fall. You want to give it time to get established before it gets hot, or freezes.

If I do it now, will it keep it from blooming?
