Since when are scholarship athletes automatically rich? If they went to an elite high school, they probably had scholarships there as well.

I think that people need to realize that it is probably because of the money that these two were selected.

Duke Lacrosse has become this year's Natalee Holloway story. It's overkill when FNC devotes about half of its 9 PM to 11 PM time slot on this when an update could be provided in three minutes. There are so many more pressing stories that need to be covered.

A lacrosse net sits in front of the home of Duke University lacrosse player Collin Finnerty in Garden City, N.Y., Tuesday, April 18, 2006. Finnerty is being charged with rape and kidnap of a stripper hired to dance at an off campus party last month.

What a vile article. Obviously the accused grew up with privilege while the poor accused grew up in squaller and rampant discrimination because she is black. The liberal press discusses me.

An education at Chaminade cost $6,670 a year in regular tuition, while students in the elite collegiate program paid more than $23,000 annually. For those decent, teetotalling single moms who are reading the article and who want to put their kid through a school like Chaminade, the article should read:
An education at Chaminade cost $6,670 a year in regular tuition, or about seven weeks worth of stripping (including a healthy dose of one-on-ones) . . .

Ok, I'll say it. I don't think she's telling the truth and it wouldn't be a stretch that she looked at their daddy's money. First, there was no DNA match and then at least one of the guys she ID'ed has what seems to be an air tight alibi.

Just as an aside, I grew up in Garden City and attended Chaminade High School and I did not "come from money".
(Or perhaps my parents hid my trust fund very well, because I sure as hell haven't been able to find it.)

Sure seems funny to me that this woman would have a criminal record, 2 kids, going to college, which I know isn't easy....but.....
wouldn't it be easier if we could 'sue' someone with 'money' so we didn't have to be a stripper and we could have all the nicy nice things now instead of later????
I just don't think this would work for the majority of the world...do you????

I couldn't care less whether they come from money. Money or not, I can't seem to drum up much sympathy for them. False accusations? Cry me a river, "gentlemen."
