The victim, a single mom who turned to exotic dancing to support her two kids, attends North Carolina Central University, a mostly black college in Durham.
She plans to keep a low profile until the students go on trial to avoid inflaming tensions in the black community, where opinion is running heavily against the privileged students.
One of the most hurtful things for the woman about the media circus surrounding the case, the cousin said, is the tendency to assume the worst about her because she is a stripper.
"She's a victim and she's a human being," the cousin said. "Her occupation couldn't justify that a crime like this was committed."

"There's no way to get rid of it without making yourself look guilty."
Sure there would be... Cut it up in real small pieces and flush the pieces. (You can't do that with a watch)

Another article on the warrant last night and a defense attorney predicting no 3rd arrest will be made:

About the shoe. What is that suppose to show? We all know she had one show off while dancing. Does Nifong think she lost it in the mist of a rape, when there are pics of the shoe on the floor will she is dancing with Kim!
To: mystery-ak
Yes, back to 29 minutes for a 5 minute drive to Kroger's.

Can Nifong actually be thinking that any one of these young men would take that ugly shoe home w/him as a trophy of that alleged 'rape'? He is completely off the rails.

>>>Apparently old mail from loved ones is going to prove a rape several months later.... /sarcasm <<<
Sorry I wasn't more clear.
The envelope would tie a person to that room. They were looking for something in that room to link him to the alleged rape.
The fact that he receives mail in that room is significant.
I doubt the school gives utility bills which could be found there that would link him to that room.
To: sissyjane
Sounds reasonable, and highly probable, especially since the DNA tests Nifong is waiting for aren't happening.
____
I would bet Nifong is no longer waiting, I cannot imagine he is unaware of the results by now.

Thanks Oak Oak. Only one thing, I'm a "she", lol.

That picture was described on our local TV as "her shoe laying next to her on the floor."
Is that her face?

In other words, taking the letter precludes a possible defense that even if the infamous white shoe (SHOE I said!) was found in the room, he didn't live there?

The envelope would tie a person to that room. They were looking for something in that room to link him to the alleged rape. When I was at Duke, we didn't receive mail at our dorm , we had a P.O. Box. Maybe things have changed in five years, I don't know

It's interesting she chose the two players to ID who come from the most wealthy families, 3 weeks after the faux rape. She is not a credible person, imo, and based on her flimsy testimony young men have had their lacrosse program finished, been suspended from school, other schools have said they don't want them, and some seniors on the team have had their job offers revoked. That's outrageous.I just read that part of your post to my bf. He's trying to figure who to sue, cause "Crystal Meth" isn't going to be able to pay back what she took from these guys.
Speaking of that, did you see her rap sheet? What a damn joke! Who does this woman know to get off that easy? Sure, Hillary can run over a cop, but some drunk exotic dancer gets off that easy? What gives?

Ok....'s his room....so they just look through anything and everything for evidence??? Shouldn't this have been done way before now??? (Just asking ;)
To: maggief
Well thanks Maggie, but that didn't really answer any of my questions.
and the defense attorney sounds a little confused himself.

It is scary. If one of my sons was in danger of being drawn into the web of the DA and his protege, his dorm room would be stripped clean. I would have documented evidence that nothing was left. Just in case a strippers white shoe suddenly showed up there......

"I think there are very few young men who at some point don't go to a party where there is a stripper and drinking. Darned few. It used to be considered pretty acceptable for men who are a lot older and presumably mature to have strippers at their bachelor's parties the night before they got married, for crying out loud."
I agree... My wife and kids hired a stripper for my 40th birthday party. Boy was she ugly. I think they did it to embarrass me.
50 of my closest friends and coworkers were there (both sexes). That was more than 20 years ago though.
To: Howlin
IMO, it's a guy's bare foot wearing a flipflop, and bare leg.
And, another guy's leg, wearing jeans and brown shoe, (not Bruno Magli).
