I saw him speak about 15 years ago at the Worldfest film festival. He was promoting a film about horrific Japanese war crimes in the Pacific (it was an Australian historical drama).

He said that he was in an internment camp but that he had no bad memories of the experience. I understand that he and his family were relocated. I don't deny what he went through but he seems to be playing the victim card contrary to his earlier statements.
