Question for the owner: How were these children able to get access to your dog?
Where were you?

It's not the animal's fault, poor training!

My Pit has never attacked my toddlers!

The first child the dog attacked was the owners. Then he went after the owner. I don't understand how anyone could have one of these monsters in a house with children.
When the dog comes at you with mouth open, ram your cloth-wrapped fist down the animal's throat. The animal will either release (not likely with a pit bull) or pass out from lack of O2.
The rest of the article:
"One of the officers at the scene was also attacked and bitten on the leg. Witnesses said the dog continued to clamp down on the officers leg even though she repeatedly beat it with her police baton. The attack ended when the officers partner shot and killed the animal.
Police said the injured officer was taken to an area hospital. She is in stable condition.
Animal control officers confiscated three other pit bulls at the home. No word yet on what will happen to the animals."
I will say I did have a dog that was a German Shepherd Terrier mix as a child. There were a couple of boys in the neighborhood that would come up to the fence and tease the dog every chance they got.
The dog went berserk every time he saw them. They thought it was funny. My parents were worried to death the dog would one day get loose and take their arms off.
He did attack a bunch of boys that were beating up our paper boy. He was great protection, and a good family dog, but we were lucky we didn't get sued.
In the early 70s my neighbor had a nice Doberman. Always nice with him and his family.
I asked him about the breed's reputation. He said yes, they can get nasty. He said they can turn on their master.
He said you put the animal down, the first time it turns nasty with the master.
The Pit Bull today has the reputation of Dobis 30 years ago. Apparently earned by behavior.
I think there are many owners who train for (or don't train to remove?) the extreme aggression. They want a mean dog.
A lot of folks are NOT good pet owners.
Expect to see ALOT MORE of these Pit Bull stories...
They love their dog fighting and the low lifes who promote and indulge in such activities generally could care less about collateral damage...
Even the SE Asians who live in WI are now indulging their death fantasies in this dog killing blood sport.
imo
This may be a bit off-topic, but since we're talking about animal attacks, has anyone seen the video of a gang attack of a Las Vegas sucurity gaurd? A pack of wild animals attacked him for no reason at all. He survived, but the animals will not be charged with a hate crime. I didn't fit the criteria.
