After what I've heard tonight on the different shows reporting on the case.....I have concluded that "reporting" has a different meaning than I thought. Facts mean nothing. Spin is all they know. IF by chance, they have a guest that actually knows what they're talking about, they discard the info because it doesn't fit the spin.

These young men are ruined. Come hell or high water, they're going to be convicted. The outcome has been predetermined. Makes me sick!

Someone (either a lawyer or Policemen - This I KNOW) that is a Freerepublic fan - told me her license was suspended at the time of the event. I know from other things he said and asked that he has been in court many times.

He or She said that her license was suspended.

But her Father told major media outlets that she drove her car over and dropped it off and said she didn't want to drive it AND later her Father says she also told him that she had to got to the Police Station and ID the guys.
It's not too smart to drive your car to a policestation if your license is suspended.

Her Father also said she was treated at the hospital for her leg being "out of joint". He said that Crystal told him that a doctor tried to put it back in joint (at Duke Medical Ctr). Later, the father's story changes, he stop mentioning that and said she had a scratch or something on her leg. I don't think it's a coincidence that her Father has stopped passing that on. I think someone pointed that out to him as he's not savvy or sophisticated in these matters.

I believe the hospital record will show she wasn't treated by a doctor for her leg being out of joint.

Taxing my brain to remember....one TH tonight said the DNA results were "inconclusive" so they had to be retested.

And why go to a second lab?

You know the answer: it's a repeat to get a better result.

I agree.

This Duke lacrosse case minght have some pretty interesting defamation implications that I don't think have been addressed previously. Specifically, the DA telling the press that a rape has occurred and that he will prosecute the rapists. Now that there has been an indictment, an acquittal might very well open him up to a defamation claim by the two players since he has basically told the press they are rapists.

There is no immunity against defamation for statements made to the press since talking to the press is not a prosecutorial function. If he had only said that a rape claim was being investigated, he would likely be OK, but I think he crossed a pretty well defined line.

The late CJ Rhenquist was death on defamation claims. In fact, he almost always wrote the majority opinion when the plaintiff prevailed at the USSC, and the plaintiff almost always prevailed if it got to the USSC.

"Sounds like they didn't pay the strippers, and were thinking the pimp (probably armed with more than a lacrosse stick) would come after them at the house for the money.

THAT'S why they cleared out so quickly, not fear of law enforcement showing up as Wendy Murphy claiming."

Sir JB, do you know if LE has identified or spoken to the pimp?

The cabby has a computerized call log.

I don't trust the cab driver. I feel like his story will get more and more negative toward the players as time goes on.

He is black himself and has to live in that city. He won't be able to lie about the logs but he can embellish a bit about what was said and the tone.

He might not even do it intentionally but it's sort of like how home teams get the calls from officials in sports. When they make calls in favor of the home team the crowd cheers so the favorable calls become self fulfilling prophecy.

Every time this cab driver says sometime in favor of the accuser then everyone will want to hear what he has to say. If he says there was nothing special then no one will care.

Daddy says he took her to the store before her strip job that night to buy soda and candy for her kids. And she didn't drive to the party.....

Just thought of something. On smokinggun, in one of the reports, a green honda is mentioned as still being at the house. Wonder who that belongs to?

" The alleged victim claims she was sodomized. If so, I yet find it curious the DA didn't bring up the SODOMY word as opposed to the RAPE word."

Yeah. What happened to the sodomy and the oral ( forced fellatio ? ) charge. Or will that always be pinned on the phantom third player ?

Someone here laid out a good explanation for it being one of the players cars. It had out of state tags.

IF she was drunk. If she had been using the date-rape drug; her body would have been mellow: NOT CLUTCHING the heck outta the handbrake. Feminists assert it was "inner tension" (from the "rape") that caused her to hang on for dear life.

Threads ago, I wonder if it was cocaine or an upper. Either upper would have induced such a "clutching" (Or even "rocking") action; of course, springing from an inner tension known as "I'm leaving my body now from Chemical Assistance but hanging on for dear life as my hand is freaking out and isn't quite sure what's going on".

Why not test it all the first time? And why go to a second lab?
_____________________________________________________

My guess and I am not in any of the related fields is:

1. Maybe it all sent off at the same time and one procedure or lab takes longer than the other. ie Hair dna comparisons take longer than fluid.

2. Maybe one lab does the blood/swabs and other fluids and another type of lab concentrates on hair DNA?
