His previous scrape won't matter .. He is charged here with Rape and Kidnapping. If eye witnesses testify he was with them at a restaurant when the rape and kidnapping occured

Well, he couldn't have done it and it won't matter.

His prior record won't come in unless the Defense opens the door with testimony about his character.

It's cutting a fine point, but my point is the characterization of the accuser merely as a "student and mother" fails to include her past lapses of character.
