IMO, he went round the bend in '93.
I had listened to him nightly when his show was political.
I first found him in early 1995 tuning around the AM band DXing as I had trouble sleeping from the pain of a car accident I was in and on medica leave. Art kept me company many a night. Back then, IIRC, that was at the tail end of the Brady Bill passing in 1994 and it was still a hot topic. I liked it when the show was directed by the callers although having guests were cool too. I remember the political stuff, I always laughed so hard when "Dr. Democrat" and "Charlie Liberal" called up as well as his battles with J.C. from Texas who says, "he will burn in Hell." I also remember when Hale-Bopp was big too. As to Art, I'm wondering about him, but the only thing is to wait and see, maybe he will be happy and so forth, but I do concur, it is a bit sudden.
