If you try the potatoes in garbage cans in layers of straw, let me know how that works out. I am wondering how the bottom layers grow to the top when there are more layers on top of them or do you just use one layer at a time when it's time to harvest? I guess I don't totally understand the concept.
Hi kayak - well, this tire potato planting theory is fascinating. I would love to find another way to plant potatoes in a small space as they take up a lot of room in a garden as they need to be planted quite far apart. Do you know anyone who as tried it?
I think it sounds like you could just plant a potato in the bottom of a garbage can and keep adding dirt, sort of like the tire theory.
I probably should go to bed before I volunteer to plant zucinni in a garbage can to see it if will work.
I knew people who said they tried it and it worked but I can't personally vouch for it.
Noooooooo! Not zuchinni! You'd have enough for the whole state of Iowa. LOL!
LOL
That's what I was thinking.
I'm going to call it a night.
See you tomorrow.
I am totally ticked off that the judge kept warning the prosecution to lay off on the exhibits and testimony because it might be too prejudicial. Excuse my french but prejudicial hell! How can evidence cause someone to pre-judge?!!! It is what we use to make informed decisions. And what they showed, as heart-wrenching and nauseating as it was, was just a tiny fraction of all that could have been presented.
How can you say that the prosecution is piling on when there were nearly 3,000 stories and only a handful were presented? The jury and everyone in America need to see all those pictures and more. They need to have it hit them in the gut to realize the monstrosity of what happened that day and to realize that Moussaoui (who, by the way, bought too many vowels from Vanna) and his ilk would do it all over again tomorrow and ten times more devastating.
Fantastic! That is wonderful news.
I think I'll try that, it might prove interesting and profitable. How often do we irrigate these potoatoes in straw? I've heard of planting tomatoes with a bit of potting soil in straw, but haven't tried it. I'm still stuck on hanging a tomato from the balcony.
Goodnight Granny, and sleep for 7 hours.
Nite All. Till tomorrow. Sleep well.
Me 'n Turbotax did the dirty deed tonight!
Atta girl! Glad to hear that!
Only the good die young! You and I are gonna close down this thread! :-)
I'm glad it was benign.
Good Morning to the Dawn Patrol.
We had a terrible storm here last night. I had fallen asleep and woke to wind and hail...it seemed to go on forever. Guess we will look around this morning to see if we got any damage.
I was watching that weather yesterday. It slid to the South of us midday, and later I saw the red warning box across Central Illinois. Do you think that was the storm you got?
I thought it was moving to the NE, and thought it would miss you. It must have been the back side.
Sun is just now coming up, so I am going to go see if my rose trees are ok. And the greenhouse.
