This is classic. Say something that is unsupportable, back it up with goofy links -- in this case a link to an undetected April Fool's joke -- then refuse to acknowledge the error. Some morality. This is how 1⁷²⁰ became an icon representing the creationists.

I've never seen a creationist admit to being in error about anything. Apparently public embarrassment and humiliation is not a deterrent. Perhaps it's a badge of honor. I recall a poster who actually took pride in his/her ignorance.
