Having already had Nixon and Carter as presidents, what's even remotely fictional about Logan? Nixon was by any definition a criminal, a serial criminal at that. Carter's entire presidency was one step away from being treasonous at law, and his administration most certainly violated the Constitution on a weekly, if not daily, basis.

You didn't mention Clinton, who surpassed anything Carter could have or would have done (back then--NOW is another story). Nixon never was the criminal he was portrayed as being--at least in my opinion.

Okay, he was a little paranoid, but people WERE after him.

And sending a few goons to break into a psychiatrist's files pales in comparison with certain people grabbing FBI files on everyone in the known universe.
