Any number of reasons:
A: There are more women than men, and therefore less of a pool for women to choose from
B: Men are less discriminating than women. i.e. for men beauty is a light switch away.
C: Women are more romantic about sex, fantasizing about the knight in shining armor or the dashing secret agent. The hero is always handsome. Men are glad to be getting it.
D: Women are more likely to attach emotion to sex, a partner's looks are an additive to that emotion. When a woman has sex with a handsome man the reaction is "I'm in love!" on the contrary, a man's reaction is often, "Wait 'til I tell the guys who I nailed!"
E: More women would 'throw themselves' at a handsome man, so there's more opportunity.
