Alleged Rape Victim Had Past Brush With Law
WRAL website ^ | 4/7/2006 | OakOak

Posted on 04/06/2006 10:43:09 PM PDT by OakOak

The alleged Victim in the Duke Lacrosse Gang Rape has a substance abuse problem, here license has been suspended 3 times, she has an eluding police conviction, a larceny conviction, she has spent time in jail. And there are so many inconsistencies in her story, the timeline, and the 911 calls it's absurd.

None of this has been reported, mind you.

Okay, her record has been reported on a small, local station and they did not broadcast this report. Web-site only. The woman told the News and Observer and the National Media that she was nervous and new to stripping. Rita Cosby and Dan Abrams had guests saying that this was her SECOND time stripping. Turn out she's been dancing at clubs and at private parties for at least 5 years as Crystal Magnum. The other dancer also has a criminal record.

Here's the URL for the latest article (notice how they downplay her "brush with the law":

http://www.wral.com/news/8513890/detail.html?rss=ral&psp=news

Here's another with the 3 license suspensions .. The team players have said she arrived at the party drunk or high and the second 911 call reports her as intoxicated.

Let's just see what the DNA reports say. Why is everyone pointing the finger one way or another? It really will not effect any of our lives weather these guys really did it or not. If they did, then the law will handle it.

Let's worry about real issues like the War on Terror or Taxes. Its kind of funny how close we are to tax day, but everyone is talking about immigration. Not that that is not an issue, but how come now. Come on folks this is nothing new.

A Durham jury will convict these kids if they have videotape of them in church at the time of the event.

The Media coverage has been SO unfair. The team members said the woman showed up drunk or high and then we find out her license has been suspended 3 times, she has a DWI, and a larceny conviction.

The girl's story doesn't hold up to scrutiny.. The white DA in a black city (up for relection in a month) had to do this to keep his job, but it's not JUSTICE.

A biased, unfair media and the constitution .. affects every issue out there.

Not insignificant . This is a prime example of Media bias in reporting.

Look at these titles in NEWS when you do Google search of NEWS with DUKE:

DEVILS at DUKE
WHITE BOYS WILDING
Lacrosse team out of control
Lacrosse team was known for its swagger
Duke allegations fit mold
Duke Lacrosse team shames Univesity
Outrage over Duke incident

It's the single, worst example or one-sided reporting I've ever seen.

The first 911 call was presented by the DA and the entire Media as corroboration from another person that the boys were wild and to their "state of mind." The DA said the first 911 call was frightening and was NOT made by either stripper. Now, the Press knows, but is NOT reporting, that the first 911 call was made by the stripper

You can listen for yourself to the two 911 calls, which are audio clips at this link:

http://www.newsobserver.com/1185/story/423877.html

If you listen very carefully to the second voice in the background on the 911 call from Kroger (which is "Kim," the second stripper and driver of the car), that sounds to me like the same voice on the 911 call made from in front of the house.

However, you can listen and make your own opinion.

This should be a local issue in North Carolina but 24/7 news cycle turned this into a national issue.

SirJohnBarleycorn,

You are correct, Sir! The Defense attorneys paid investigators big bucks and that's the same conclusion they came to.

The First 911 caller is Kim (the second dancer), however, the neighbor's statement tells us that the alleged victim is sitting right next to her in a small car. And, remember the DA said he was certain neither Dancer made either call. The first call was played by every media outlet adnauseam as an independent corroboration of the boy's behavior. Wait till your see the 2nd Dancer's criminal record (that's my opinion). This does have the makings of a set-up, because Kim had a Cell phone with her, why drive to Kroger and ask someone else to call and then tell Police you don't know the intoxicated womam and lie about how she got into her car?

Hell, why not drive to the police station less than a mile away?

I suspect the reason Kim did not drop the first stripper off at the police station is because Kim may have been drinking and over the limit, and driving, and also being a stripper/"escort" herself, may have an instinctive avoidance of the police.

The impression I take away from the Kroger 911 call is that Kim is trying to distance herself from the first stripper and hopes to dump the stripper onto the Kroger security guard and get away. It is not clear at all that Kim is in on the rape allegation. There appears to be no mention of any alleged rape or any physical injuries in the conversation Kim has with the Kroger security guard. If it is a hoax, the rape allegation may have been hatched after Kim left the scene.

I've guessed all along this was a Tawana Brawley case amped up by an insanely-PC university heirarchy trying to appear "sensitive" to the "needs" of the "victim."

If I turn out to be right, I can't wait for the lawsuits. Those whose names have been dragged through the mud without benefit of even a trial will OWN Duke.

SirJohn,

IF there was a Rape, than that is one cold-hearted person to drive to a Supermarket at 1:30 am and tell a hardly dressed woman to get out of her car. The Security guard said in her interview that (2nd stipper) Kim wanted her out of her car.

If she was beaten like her Father claims terrible bruising and swelling, I would think you'd hear the accuser in the background in that call. It's quiet as a mouse, in a little Honda. No moans, no what the hell are talking about when she goes on and on and says I'm not hurt in anyway. She even mentions Durham's policies on racial slurs. She tries to link the team to another racial incident in the area (racial graffiti on a vehicle) of course, there's no police report matching that racial graffiti. She is manipulating the 911 operator right down to when she calls her "baby" at the end of the call.

Also, if she had been beaten and strangled to within seconds of dying like the Father says.. You'd think a security guard would describe her as beaten, injured, or hurt... Instead she's only described as intoxicated.

.

I agree however many women such as this one put themselves into a situation where an attack is possible. I cant blame the supposed victim just yet.

Hold on. This woman is a college student.

Do you think the media will call for her to be suspended since she STOLE a CAR, took the police on a high speed chase, and then tried to RUN OVER A POLICEMEN!!

NCCU should have pressure brought upon them. Maybe it's the culture at NCCU that is fostering and fomenting this type of behavior.

Why is this not being reporting? She also told the Raleigh News and Observer and the Police that she was nervous because she was new to dancing. She's been stripping for over 5 years at strip clubs and private parties as Crystal
Magnum. Lying to police and a newspaper certainly reflects on her credibility. Larceny certainly makes it plausible that the strippers were trying to leave with their $800.00 after dancing for a few minutes. The player's lawyers have contended that's why the derogatory comments were being made as the car pulled off and the neighbor said in his statement the players were saying Your not leaving with our money and Get the Money!

Ah, Sprite! You have put your finger on the real problem with our society.

"The people" are not in the least concerned about "real issues" like the War on Terror or Taxes.

All they think about, or want to talk about, are "popular culture". Sadly, things like Abortion, Terri Schiavo, Natalee Holloway, Rape/NoRape by Lacrosse Players at Duke, American Idol fall squarely into the categoy of "popular culture" rather than "serious issues". These topics will have thousands of posts, when something serious will get a real Ho-Hum and few or no posts at all. The media whip people up into a frenzy. Are the media smart enough to be using these vapid topics as a diversionary topic to keep people away from the serious stuff? I really don't know the answer to that.

It is a symptom in our society of a lack of seriousness about the things that really matter. It will be our ultimate downfall.

A perceptive person might see that this case has constitional implications and above that it is very good example of how the media can totally manipulate public opinion and cause near riots by purposefully reporting one side of story.

This was Media Wilding on a chance to bring down what they consider a white, male bastion.

It is beginning to look as though this may be the case. Only time will tell ...

If this is what happened ... heads should/must roll. Else it will happen again ... and again ... and again ...

Things are completely out of control. [and that is the case even if this story were ultimately to pan out as "true".]
