I think she has a case, if she made the payments.

I don't know about that. The fact that prosecutors routinely delay trials so that they can run the defendant out of money in attorney's fees (which is a good argument for a loser-pays system in criminal law as well as civil law, btw) I can see why she's doing it.

The house has been sold.
Peterson's got "some" of the money from the sale.

She made the payments for Scott's benefit?
Or hers?
Why did she make the payments?

Torie --- does Jackie have a good case?

I mean, her son murdered Laci and now she wants to be reimbursed from her dead daughter-in-law's estate.

Maybe she has a legal claim to the money, but she sure as as hell doesn't have a moral one.

This is very telling about Jackie.

The article says she already received some of the profit from the sale of the home.

She just needs to sit down and shut up!

No way. He already got all the money he was suppose to get.

And, btw, she denied access to that house to Sharon Rocha through her attorney; she took responsibility for it when she did that.

Too bad for her.

Looks like funds are running low for the Petersons if she's this desperate.

Scott didn't think twice about breaking them.

Didn't the Petersons mortgage, or sell their home to pay his legal fees????

I hope they're homeless, after the way they treated Sharon Rocha!!

Real estate sales are public record.
I think we would search by County.
Do you recall the street address?

Don't be asinine. If it were you're son on trial, you'd do the same thing. In fact, I imagine most people on this thread would.

They did. I kept up with it for a long time, but got so sick of spending time on it, that I quit.

OK, I just looked and they haven't taken out a second or sold any RE in over a year, since Feb 2005. Plenty before that, between 12/24/2002 and that date, however - all the family members.

That's San Diego County and San Luis Obispo County both, BTW. And not to say they didn't do some deals off the registrar's books, as well.

"Jackie Peterson filed court papers March 27 asking to be reimbursed for mortgage payments, property taxes, utility bills and home repairs she said she made on Scott and Laci Peterson's house between April 2003 and February 2005."

Umm, utility bills for Geragos and the defense team to stay shacked up there and swim in the pool? Does that include chlorine treatments (like Scott used on his hair, lol)?

Nothing like asking a murder victim and her mother to help pay for the defense of the murderer! Lock ALL the Petersons up, please!

I think they're asking for real money instead of play money, like the Monopoly game dollars offered for the reward.

Best laugh I've had in a long time.

She only wants what is due her... Oh the temptation! But I shall refrain and laugh in her general direction.

God bless Sharon and her family.

Not me.

If Scott were my son, I'd go find a plastic surgeon to make me unrecognizeable, then go live on a leper colony to atone for raising such an egotistical homocidal maniac.

Scott and his narcissistic family get not one iota of sympathy from me. They are scuuuum between my toes!

Well there is a one year statute of limitations to make a claim from the date of death. It has expired. This particular stature of limitations is not well known. Second, the mom will have to compete with a lot of other creditors, since I think the claims against Scott are a community debt with claims against the community estate, although I could be wrong on that for debts arising from Scott committing murder.
