Richard Stallman is one of the original developers of what became the Linux OS

Partially true if you consider the "Linux OS" to be Linux plus several tools that Stallman wrote. However, he is not a developer of the Linux kernel.

"Amazon has obtained a US patent on an important and obvious idea for e-commerce,"

He's not the only one, a lot of people were pissed that patent was ever granted. Jeff Bezos himself funded an organization that tried to find prior art to shoot it down.

"US Patent law is to blame for authorizing patents on computational techniques and patterns of communication," he writes.

Well, he's wrong on that. It's patent regulation that allows it, regulation changed to match the decisions of activist judges.

I think it is referring to my comments on one of the threads Ah, I get it. And here GE could have actually won one of these. Too bad for him. Of course his bloviating is shot down because an intelligent person showed your error in a civil manner, which caused you to retract your statement.

But GE will keep proclaiming it as a lie of course.

Now GE, we're left with the issue of downloading security patches from hacker sites.

You say tomato, I say tomahto.

Anyone who gets this worked up about basic semantics obviously has way too much free time on his hands.

Bravo to this post, by the way.

"While lurkers who just witnessed this despicable behavoir might be shocked and appalled..."

now THAT'S funny. No one here really cares what name he called the patchworkaroundfix all those months ago, except you, who are now grasping at the thinnest of straws trying to put together an image that paints Zeugma as a person less honest than yourself.

In doing so, you just made yourself look even more banal. Didn't think it was possible. Congratulations.

Otherwise, it'd be called "Stallmanix" or something.

>For that vanishingly small number of you watching this thread...

If that means me, then
maybe I can jump in here
and point out that I

have come to suspect
GE and FD really
are the same Freeper

and these endless flames
are a kind of cabaret
they put on for fun.

Of course, I wonder,
now, if "zeugma" is also
one of Eve's faces . . .

Good Morning, I assure you I have nothing in common with these cybercommunists, obviously I find them and their endless lies deplorable.

I can see how you might think that I am posting their posts as well, since they so poorly represent their case, and expose themselves as stark raving madmen constantly.

However, that is not me, that is just the typical behavior of the linux liars, thankfully there are only a very few here, but if you ever visited their normal leftist nerd hangouts like slashdot.com or groklaw.com, you would find them in droves.

It's a shame the try to pollute FR with their continual BS, but so long as they're here I'll keep exposing them to everyone else, just like needs to be done. Maybe one day they'll actually stop trying to push all their lies on everyone in defense of leftists like Stallman, but as you can see just above, some of them are still lying to protect him with almost every post.

Have a great day!

It was supposed to be called GNU/Hurd, but the kernel part never really got off the ground.

Meanwhile, we still wait for you to address your several instances of misrepresentation constituting libel against othe FReepers.

And I still wait for you to address the issue of downloading security patches from hacker sites.

The ONLY one of those items I called you on that has been somewhat successfully argued in your favor was addressed by zeugma, the same person you attack. The rest are your demonstrable lies.

HA, more insults from the Stallmanite who continues to insist his master doesn't oppose patents when I just showed a link of Stallman calling the US patent office the "root of evil".

Ya know, I kinda resent that implication. :-)

However, your supposition does go to show how truely  unstable GE has come to seem to even just casual observers.

Almost everyone, including Microsoft and IBM (the world's largest patent holder) is criticizing the USPTO these days. They're just broke. It's unfair though, because Congress steals the USPTO's money and judges force them to grant patents they don't want to.

You still haven't addressed the issue of libel and getting security patches from hacker sites, nor have you given any evidence that Stallman opposes all patents, just common criticism of the USPTO.

Calling the USPO "the root of evil" is Stallman alone. Plus his followers like you, of course.

It'll be funny watching you spew more lies in defense of Stallman after this, a direct quote of his:

"The US Patent Office does things that are so obviously foolish: for instance, the famous Harvard mouse patent, dealing with a strain of mouse that had a cancer-causing gene."

Go on, lie some more for your master now LOL.

More misrepresentation. Didn't you just see where I said saying such things about the USPTO isn't right, because a lot of this has been put on them from the outside? And of course calling me a follower when I've harshly criticized his politics.

As usual, you engage in the politics of personal distruction to avoid the issues of your lies. Very Democrat of you.

Answer the charge of your lie about getting security updates from hacker sites.

Answer the charge of your lie about getting security updates from hacker sites.

What now, you think people should get their security updates from non-provider sites? I don't, I get my patches and any instructions about how to apply them direct from the vendor, obviously being the closest thing to a completely trustable source.
