The question has come up on different threads here - we know everyone who wants all ILLEGAL immigration stopped, but who is for stopping all LEGAL immigration as well? Whether it is just for a "short" time or permanently, let me know.

Sheesh! Not one peerson on this forum can do this for five years. Not one. You might not even know you are in violation of the peace and dignity of whatever sanctimonious jurisdiction you are in, and you might not get caught, but it is a sure bet you have broken some law, violated some ordinance, or stepped on the wrong blade of friggin' grass, whether or not you intended to.
Set a realistic standard, please. There are so many laws designed to be revenue generators and job manufacturing devices now, that there is no way to avoid breaking one.

Ted Kennedy and his liberal cohorts changed the function of legal immigration with the Immigration Act of 1965. Study it and learn something. It's in desperate need of revision to serve America's interests, not the Third World's and Democrat voter registration.

I'm too young to ever see it. I don't want SS to exists, I want to keep my own money and invest it or do otherwise.
We do need to a maintain a young productive class, though. Japan is having that problem now, due to it's lack of immigration, and it's domestic mentality of not giving birth to more kids. Our immigration policy would be fairly small if we hadn't had so many abortions in America.

Well, and the answer to your question is that the would-be legal immigrants are to be considered on the primary basis of desirability. The desirable ones are to be allowed in, and the rest are to be turned away.
