Man Says He Borrowed Car From Person At Crack House

MIAMI -- Miami police officers said they used Taser stun guns to subdue a man suspected of driving a stolen Mercedes.

Officers spotted the stolen vehicle in the Miami courthouse parking lot on Thursday morning after the owner reported that his anti-theft system had tracked the vehicle to that location.

When he was approached, the driver of the vehicle attempted to exit the parking lot and attempted to run over an officer, according to police.

Officers then used Taser stun guns and arrested the man.

After he was placed into a police car, the man spoke to local media and said he borrowed the car from someone at a crack house.

"I was coming here to court because I had filed some motions and I had to be in court today for it," the man said. "I stopped by a crack house up in Allapattah to get a couple of rocks and after I did I was at the bus stop and I waited for about a half an hour. No buses ever came so I went back to the crack house. There was a guy in there, dressed nice, said that he would loan me the car to come down here for two dime rocks and $50. I gave him the two dime rocks and told him I didn't have any change and that when I got back from court I would pay him. And I got here and, well..."

NBC 6's Hank Tester reported that the man faces a possible charge of attempted murder on a police officer and car theft charges.

His speech rhythm changes dramatically when he gets to the part where he is describing how he came into possession of the car. It goes from smooth and forthright to very halting and strained.

In having dealt with many BSers over the years, I'd hazard a guess that he is not telling the truth about how he happened to be in possession of the car. :-)

I'm very surprised someone did not light him up with at least a .40 S&W. The police are 100% justified in shooting a moron that is trying to run them over.
