No matter how cool you look after a carrier arrested landing at sea - you are still stuck on a boat with 5000 men in the middle of nowhere.

I was >< this close to going into the Navy but they career plan they had for me (finish college, then nuke school, then sub school) didn't fit my plan.
Atn the time I never thought I would want to go 10 years in the service so I went into the Air Force planning on 4 and out.
Along came Reagan, made the military a viable career, and so I spent 20 years in the AF.
Looking back, if I would have stayed the Navy route, my retirement check would probably be 3 times higher...LOL!!
