Guy walks into a bar and one of the peanuts in the bowl in front of him says, "Hey, you look great."
The guy says, "thanks."
A few minutes later, another peanut says, "I can tell, you earn a bundle, right? Don't be modest."
Guy says, "I do okay."
Few minutes pass and another peanut says, "Man, that's some haircut. Absolutely perfect."
The guy motions the bartender over and ask, "What's up with these nuts?"
Bartender answers, "They're complimentary."

No doubt I'm a lot smarter than you are.
Your ignorant post goes a long way towards proving that.
I don't doubt you're a lot smarter than me...

This is going to ruffle some feathers a bit and is off topic a little::
But nowdays, it seems pretty hard for ANYONE(man or woman) who is not an alien, terrorist or liberal to "get a good job", nowdays.
it seems like you have to ::
(1) know someone,
(2) be a good BSer,
(3)blackmail someone,
(4) "brown nose",or
(5) "just happen to "be at the right place, at the right time".
College degrees and experience are NOT the answer nowdays, either. Sure, they HELP sometimes, but are NOT what they are cracked up to be.
Rush can go on all he wants about " how good things are here and how easy it is to get a great job in America", but I would BET that HE would have a REAL hard time, if not for his Broadcastiong abilities.
It is ALWAYS easy for someone who's "bed is made and who's bills are paid", to rant about "how easy things are". If I had 300M. in the bank, I would not complain , either.
Luckily for me, Opportunity cam knocking last year, as I am one of the few good TV techs in this area. (I am not making a lot, but enough to "keep things current", so to speak.) But there are several men and women on FR, who are VERY talented, who CANNOT seem to find a good job. Minimum wage, unskilled, sure, but not something that will "pay the bills", so to speak. And it is NOT because they haven't tried, either.
Things are NOT as good as Rush likes to say they are!!

How about waiting until the ring and a wedding date?
More and more young women are fleeing the path of their sexually "liberated" sisters and going the conservative route.
I'd like to see a return to that, and I'll advocate it strongly to my daughter (as in, THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL DO, PERIOD) long before it comes time for her to date.

Necessity is the mother of invention.True. I've had to learn many things that would be considered something for men because I just had to do them myself. Like jump start a car, fix a toilet, change the wiper blade refills on my windshield wipers, etc. I didn't have anyone around who could do that for me.

I sure am.

Too bad I don't have anywhere to go tonight. LOL!

When I was in college and spring break rolled around, I went home to visit my parents. One year I went to my boyfriend's home to visit his parents. He's been my husband for 22 years now.
We have a 9-year old daughter. It's hard to shop for her to find cute but age appropriate and modest clothing for her. I don't want her in a burka, but I don't want her looking like Britney Spears (or whoever has taken her place since motherhood). Society is rampant with sexual messages, and it is difficult to raise daughters in this generation to be chaste.
I know things aren't ideal, but there are many American women who are good and chaste. And there are many American women who aren't chaste, but who are otherwise good people. I'm not ready to heap insults on my nation or my gender. For every unmarried woman having sex, there's a man not married to her having sex. (Unless they are lesbian, which is a whole other argument!) People who hurl terms like slut and whore do nothing to help the situation.

You nailed it, Rca!
Who you know is much more important than what you know.
Always has been, always will be.
Who you are has a lot to do with it too.

Uh, Rush Limbaugh's father owned the radio station where he got his start as on air personality Rusty Sharpe.

That is really no surprise. if someone hadn't helped Rush out, and gave HIM his start, he would had been a nobody, like the rest of us.
If my dad had lived, I would most likely had been a rich, spoiled kid, and adult, sponging off of my parents, like so many do nowdays. (we were an upper middle class family, when he was alive).
But he died when I was 7. since then, it has been all uphill in the struggle to make it.

I admire a self-sufficient person of either sex.
Shows you have a lot of knowledge and that you are very resourceful.

I can relate. It's been my lifelong dream to be a "remittance man." Unfortunately, it's a career you have to be born into.
