The "Peace and Justice Committees" came about in the Roman Catholic diocese as a result of opposition to the Viet Nam War and later in support of all the "Revolutionary" movements of the late 70's and early-mid 80's.

The MaryKnoll groups were/are quite heavily into "Revolutionary Theology" even thought Pope John Paul II came out ordering it to cease and desist.

Unitarians are also heaviy supporters of these fringe Communist/Socialist groups.

Anyway, these wack jobs have been around for quite a while. The Roman Catholic Church has a lot of blood on its hands from these fringe nut cases.

Thanks, it answers my questions when the Unitarian church appeared on the list of MAP, Minnesota Alliance for Peace, which the Basilica of St. Mary's in Mpls. is a member. Do you know if they have any affiliations with United for Peace and Justice? They were supporters of the commie rebel groups in South and Central America? They were helpful in making President Lyndon Johnson NOT take full force to eliminate the threat in Vietnam? They have their table set up after every mass, encouraging people who go to a Bible study to write their congressman and agree with their perspective, sign some petition or something, as I experienced, in, what I thought was going to be an objective Bible study, NOT an attempt to brainwash!!!....in my opinion.

The Unitarians are quite open about...and proud of...their Communist sympathies and have been for quite a while.
