Some years ago in National Review some wag was remembering Gerald Ford's dreadful gaffe about Poland during his presidential debate with Peanut Guy. The wag's remark was that the Polish people were probably wondering at that point how many American presidents it took to change a light bulb.

Hope she gets better. How's your work schedule gonna mesh with the recovery schedule? (Considering spring break and all.)

BTW, Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX18) ranks 435th among House members for constituent services. [For those with post-1979 publick edukashuns - this means she is DEAD LAST.]

How did they measure that?

(Heck - How did they ever get a congesscritter (any congresscritter!) to admit to a survey like that?)

It wasn't a survey, as such. I think it was one of those watchdog groups that monitors the criminals congresscretins.

Of course, a simple IQ test would have yielded the same results in Sheila's case.

[So stupid, the phone company wouldn't hire her]

xshub chatted up some st james moms tonight at xsboy's baseball practice "chalktalk" (rme!) tonight and found out that our associate priest sent the bishop an 11 page letter PRIOR to the decision being made, outlining all the reasons NOT to permit altar girls. that man is a stalwart! he is fantastic, rock solid on prolife, smart as all get out, and absolutely conservative to his core. i would LOVE to have a copy of that letter for you, HD. these 2 moms are also extremely conservative and love the associate as well for the same reason. he knows he will NEVER advance in the Church hierarchy, he is way too much of a boat rocker. Caveman, you would love him, i am sure.

oh look, i found a pic of Father Sandals, on the right as you look at the pic

however, he was NOT the first with the altargirls.

And this from our pastor:

Father Cornelius O’Brien, pastor of St. James Parish in Falls Church, said that he thinks his parishioners “are very inclined to stay with the traditional way” and not introduce altar girls. Also, because he is in his “75th year” and expects to retire soon, he said he will maintain the status quo “in justice to whoever follows” him as pastor. But, he said, after reading the continuous media coverage, “I think we shouldn’t have touched (the issue) with a 40-foot-pole.”

She looks much better since she had her gap-toothed grin repaired. A for you.
I am down in the dumps, hockey-wise. We went to tonight's game against the RedWings and were outscored, 4-2. At least the Spurs are holding their own against the stinkin' Lakers.

It's amazing what they can do for dogs nowadays. When I was in grad school, I worked with a vet at A&M who was pioneering new types of hip repairs in dogs. A for you and Thena!

So I imagine this priest says mass in Aramaic, just like The Big Guy did; traditionalist like that wouldn't stray into English or Latin or any bogus stuff like that.....
