CBS) HARLEM On Tuesday night as David Jordan was escorted out of the 23rd Precinct station house he told reporters he killed Rev. Philip Mann in self defense.

"He became agressive when asking to have sex with me," Jordan said. "When I refused he went into his kitchen and grabbed a knife."

On Monday afternoon Mann was found dead in a pool of blood inside his Schomburg Plaza apartment in East Harlem. Sources said he was stabbed multiple times in the chest and that building surveillance cameras had captured video of Jordan in the apartment building.

Mann was founder and minister at Harlem's Blessed Trinity Baptist Church.

Church representatives say the 68-year-old pastor had befriended Jordan two years ago. Congregation members told police the prominent minister was last seen alive with Jordan as they left the Church's 27th anniversary celebration on Sunday night.

Jordan gave a videotaped confession on Tuesday and vehemently denied being intimately involved with Mann.

When asked if he ever had a relationship with the Reverend, Jordan said: "No. I'm not homosexual."
