I never understood why anybody would want a debit card. If you use a credit card and pay it off every month, then you get to use somebody else's money for a month.
Oh I get it, no discipline.

No, its easier than checks are, and faster. I don't carry much cash but don't like to feed VISA 2% of what I buy so they can give cards to anyone with a pulse and ruin their lives.

For many, not using a credit card IS discipline. You can't be tempted to spend more than you have if you don't have such an easy way to do so.

I never understood why anybody would want a debit card. I use a pre-paid debit card for all online and foreign purchases. It makes me feel easier about giving out a number. The most I can lose is the amount funded to the card.
It has little to do with discipline. I have two credit cards, and three checking accounts, and never pay fees. Once the debit card was established, I just give it enough money to buy whatever I want, and by using direct deposit (from one of my business accts), pay no fees...

We use a credit card and pay it off every month, and have the additional rule that you never put something on a credit card that you couldn't pay cash for in that month.
