This is what makes guys like Elliott and Bucky so enamoring to people. Nobodies (except to the people who know them) who show up in people's living rooms each week and become underdog favorites.

The show is many things to many people and it seems to have been distorted by the show leaders as well. The influencing of votes for preferred candidates, the taking on of people like Taylor who have already released CDs, the whimsical assassination of people by Simon all makes the show hard to understand. Do they want the best singer? Do they want a performer? Do they want a sex symbol?

I think they want the person who will enable them to make the most amout of money and keep the highest possible number of people watching the show. It's all about "Show me the money!"

Simon does what he does to generate buzz, have people talking about him and what he said, and to "entertain" people. I know people who watch the show mainly to see what Simon's going to say each week. They could care less who wins.

I don't honestly believe that AI is "pimping" for anyone in particular. I honestly don't buy into the "Simon said this or that" to "gain so and so the sympathy vote" or "to lessen the sympathy vote", etc.

I believe America's going to vote for who they want to vote for, regardless of what Simon says. It may impact the earlier rounds, but when you get to this level, pretty much everyone has already decided who their pulling (and voting) for, and as their person loses, they have a back up.
