Simon told Carrie very early on that she was going to sell a lot of records. And, I believe he said that she would sell more than anyone else would. On any given night Simon will tell anyone that they are the best and its theirs to lose. He even told Bo last year that it was his to lose. Simon even said as much on Larry King live, that he says one thing one night and goes completely different the next.
